Ayin is an app for learning to pray. What you write in it is yours, and it stays on your phone. This page sets out plainly what the app keeps, where, and why.

In short
- Your journal never goes through our servers. Entries, moods, fasts, prayer requests, saved verses: all of it stays on your phone.
- What you type to find a passage is not sent and not kept. The app matches it against its index of themes, on your phone.
- The verse of the day is chosen on your phone, without contacting any server.
- No ads, no trackers, no analytics, and we never sell data. The app contains none of these.
- No profiling, and no automated decision that affects you.
- You can use Ayin without an account. Without one, nothing about you is sent to our servers.

Moods. Logging a mood can say something about your health. That is why moods never leave your phone: we cannot see them, and no server receives them.
What you type to find a passage. The text is not kept. On your phone, the app only counts how often a search found no ready theme, so we know which themes to write first. That count holds none of your words and never leaves the phone.
Reminders. Fasting reminders are scheduled on your phone and show the intention you wrote. Nothing is sent to make them work.
Backup
Backup is off until you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, your journal and your settings (including your first name, birthday and account email) are copied into your phone's own backup: your Google account on Android, iCloud on iPhone. That copy lives in your personal storage. We have no access to it. Turning backup off deletes the copy the app made.
Subscription
Payment is handled by Apple or Google: we never see your card. After a purchase or a restore, the app sends the transaction identifier to our server, which asks Apple or Google whether the subscription is valid and until when. We receive that date and the plan (monthly or yearly), nothing else. It is kept on your phone so paid content opens offline, and in your account if you have one, so you get it back on another phone.
Your account
An account is optional. It keeps your first name, birthday and subscription when you change phones. You can create one with Apple, with Google, or with an email address. With Apple or Google, they confirm who you are; we only receive the email address they pass on, and Apple lets you hide yours.

When you share a verse or export your journal, you decide where it goes: the app uses your phone's share sheet and keeps nothing.
How long
- On your phone: until you delete it. Uninstalling the app erases everything it kept on the phone; a backup copy, if you turned backup on, is managed from your Google account or iCloud.
- Your account: for as long as it exists. When you delete it, your email address, first name, birthday and subscription status are erased from our servers straight away. [TO CHECK: how long Supabase's technical backups keep data on the current plan]
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, delete it, take it with you, and object to its use.
- Take your journal with you: My account → My data → Export my journal. Free, with or without an account.
- Correct your first name or birthday: My account.
- Delete your account: My account → My data → Delete my account, or without the app, from the Delete my account page.
- Anything else: email us at [TO COMPLETE: contact address]. We reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or to the authority where you live.
Children
Ayin is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data about them. [TO CHECK with the lawyer: the digital age of consent is 15 in France]
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. Any change to what the app keeps will be announced in the app.
